Recent Website Version Updates:

11.0.0 - Drupal version 6.19. Brand new look and feel to the website, including new navigation menu, cleaner, simpler layout, improved search, and modified block layout. See below for more information.

New Site Features

-Since its incorporation in 2009, the brand new Drupal system has developed and become a very powerful tool for the TRC website. There have been 3 official theme revisions, the one you see now being the third. There were some important features that we specifically kept in mind designing the newest revision to the theme:

• A simpler, more direct theme that focused on delivering the important information to the end user.
• A cleaner and faster look. Reduced load times with increased information delivery. This also included ensuring the beauty and style that are important in a website.
• More back-end power for authenticated users. We have moved more of the information to the back-end, where normal visitors need not wade through additional information. Logged users, members, etc, can then access the additional information and rosters for each program, for example. 
• On the bottom of our homepage, you can 'Like' us on Facebook! It is a great way to connect with the major Social network.
• On specific pages, based on page content, there is a bar that is located beneath the page content. This bar allows you to hover over, and thus connect with Facebook, Twitter, Email a page, Bookmark, and so much more. 
• Additionally, the new navigation menu is locked to the top of the screen, so that wherever you are on a page, or within the site, you can quickly access anything you need to anywhere on the site. 

-There are also specific website features that are available because of our new website back-end. Some of our new features:       
 -For example, the Upcoming Events List on the left bar of every page of our website gives you quick access to information about every Titan Robotics event.       
 -The Order Status Page, available only to registered users, allows team members to view the status of a club order. Lets say someone on the robot build team orders a motor that is needed to complete the robot. They are able to log-on to the website and track their order from the moment it is submitted, and follow it on its way through school ASB approval and then a tracking number is given to follow the package in-route from the warehouse to the club. They are then sent an email when it arrives, and notified of where they will be able to pick it up. (Unfortunately, we can not make this publicly available)       
 -The Sponsors bar appears on the left side or bottom of every page. The Chief Financial Officer is able to login to the website and put in a sponsors logo and website address. It is then recognized across all the pages in the TRC Website, and everyone that visits us is able to see and thank our sponsors.       
 -Every member of the TRC is able to create an account on the website, and by having different permissions assigned to them (such as Alumni, Student, Mentor, Parent, Etc...) the experience they have on the website will change. Now granted, it is not a major change, because most of the information that appears on the website is extremely valuable. However some features, such as the Order Tracking Service, is added to some accounts.
