The Chairman’s Award is the most prestigious award given out by FIRST during a robotics competition. It is given to the teams that best symbolize the goals of FIRST; the teams that increase the recognition of science and technology in their region and do so through Gracious Professionalism; the teams that go beyond the call to help other teams and make their community a better place for people to live in. These teams are the role models of FIRST; ones that other teams should look toward as to what they should become. In 2006, we were one of those teams. We did a number of things to help other teams and the community demonstrating Gracious Professionalism in the whole process, and we were rewarded with the Chairman’s Award. In the following years we look forward to improving on what we did then; we have already done a lot for our community, but there is always more work to be done For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.
